- Volkswagen Group’s all-electric vehicle (BEV) deliveries in Europe rose 113%, doubling its market share to 26% and pushing BEVs to 19% of total Western Europe sales.
- Global BEV deliveries jumped 59% to 216,800 vehicles, with robust growth in the U.S. (+51%) and a notable decline in China (-37%).
- Incoming vehicle orders in Western Europe surged 29%, with BEV orders alone increasing by 64%, driven by strong demand for new model launches.
Volkswagen Group significantly expanded its leadership in Europe’s all-electric vehicle (BEV) market in Q1 2025, more than doubling BEV deliveries in the region and achieving a 113% year-over-year increase. The company now commands approximately 26% of the European BEV market.
“Our products are being well received and show that the Volkswagen Group is on the right track,” said the company. “We increased our all-electric deliveries worldwide by around 60 percent in the first quarter. In Europe in particular, we were able to significantly expand our leading position in this segment with a doubling of deliveries.”
Globally, the Group delivered 216,800 all-electric vehicles by the end of March—up 59% from 136,400 in Q1 2024. This pushed the global BEV share from 6% to 10% of total deliveries. North America (+51%) and Europe led the charge, while China saw a notable BEV decline of 37%.
Overall, Volkswagen’s total vehicle deliveries reached 2.13 million units, a 1.4% increase compared to Q1 2024 (2.10 million). Growth in North America (+4%), South America (+17%), Western Europe (+3%), and Central & Eastern Europe (+8%) offset a 7% decline in China.

The demand surge was particularly evident in Western Europe, where the share of BEVs in total volume doubled to 19%. Volkswagen also reported a 29% jump in incoming orders across all drive types in the region, with the order book rising to nearly one million vehicles.
“We have good momentum in our home region overall, which is also reflected in the 29 percent increase in incoming orders across all drive types, bringing the order book there back up to around one million vehicles,” Volkswagen stated. “In the coming months, we expect additional tailwind from numerous newly launched models.”
Notable new models driving this demand include the VW ID.7 Tourer, CUPRA Terramar, Skoda Elroq, Audi Q6 e-tron, and Porsche 911. These vehicles contributed to a 64% increase in BEV orders during the quarter.
Plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) deliveries also showed strength, climbing 15% year-over-year to 82,500 units, driven by second-generation models with all-electric ranges of up to 143 km.
Volkswagen’s performance positions the Group as a dominant force in the electrification race, with strong momentum expected to continue across key global markets—especially in Europe and the Americas.
