Lululemon Appoints Former Nike CSO Noel Kinder to Drive Global Sustainability Strategy

  • Leadership Upgrade: Former Nike CSO Noel Kinder joins Lululemon as SVP of Sustainability, bringing 25+ years of global ESG experience.
  • Strategic Execution: Kinder will lead internal and external sustainability strategies, governance, and impact-focused initiatives across the value chain.
  • Momentum Shift: His appointment comes as Lululemon doubles down on its climate and circularity goals amid industry-wide sustainability team reductions.

Lululemon has appointed Noel Kinder, Nike’s former Chief Sustainability Officer, as Senior Vice President of Sustainability, signaling a renewed push to accelerate its impact agenda and ESG performance.

Kinder, who joined the company last week, will be responsible for executing Lululemon’s global sustainability and environmental strategies—including governance and stakeholder alignment. He reports directly to Chief Supply Chain Officer Ted Dagnese.

Noel’s leadership, global perspective, and proven track record will be instrumental as we continue to advance our impact work to create a more circular and sustainable future,” said Dagnese.

Kinder left Nike in February 2024 after nearly 25 years with the brand, including five as CSO. He was central to designing and executing Nike’s enterprise-wide sustainability commitments, including its science-based climate targets. His exit preceded Nike’s decision to downsize its sustainability division, cutting an estimated 30% of ESG-related roles through layoffs and departures.

During his tenure at Nike, Kinder held multiple leadership roles across sourcing, manufacturing, operations, finance, and strategy, building a reputation for cross-functional ESG leadership.

Lululemon is a leader in innovation and deeply committed to advancing its sustainability and climate goals,” Kinder said. “I look forward to partnering with the talented teams across the company to continue this critical work and create meaningful, lasting change.”

He succeeds Esther Speck, who led Lululemon’s sustainability strategy for nearly a decade.
